Water-soluble larvicide pouch from Bonide built on Bti, or Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. israelensis, a naturally occurring soil bacterium. It works only when larvae eat the released particles: the crystalline toxin destroys the gut lining and the larvae die before becoming biting adults. Each floating pouch dissolves within minutes, treats up to 50 square feet, and lasts up to about two weeks, a shorter window than the familiar 30-day dunks. It is highly selective and will not harm fish, amphibians, birds, pets, or beneficial aquatic organisms, which makes it safe for bird baths, rain barrels, ponds, and livestock tanks. Sold as a 24-pouch pack, it keeps working even in dirty or algae-covered water. This is source control for standing water, not skin protection.
