It works by imitating a human: an upward air current carries the BG-Sweetscent lure (a blend that mimics the smell of human skin) out of the trap, a bottle of CO2 adds the breath cue mosquitoes home in on, and the fan then vacuums the incoming mosquitoes down into a mesh catch bag where they dry out and die. There is no pesticide and no zapping grid, so it is far more selective than a bug zapper and is especially good at catching the day-biting Asian tiger and yellow-fever mosquitoes (Aedes) that most yard products struggle with.
