Summary

Laboratory vapor-toxicity ranking of five volatile pyrethroids against four mosquito species.

Key findings

Transfluthrin and meperfluthrin were most potent, followed by metofluthrin, then prallethrin; prallethrin was measurably weaker as a vapor-phase active than transfluthrin or metofluthrin across all four species.

Limitations

Controlled laboratory vapor-chamber assay that does not measure real-world personal protection, distance, or duration.
