Decora-styled one-acre unit from DynaTrap that uses the same three-way system as the rest of the line: a UV bulb to draw insects, a titanium-dioxide surface said to give off a trace of carbon dioxide, and a quiet vacuum fan that traps insects until they dehydrate. The up-to-one-acre coverage is a marketing figure rather than a measured protection zone. It runs continuously at about 35 watts, the bulb needs replacing roughly every 3000 hours, and the cage should be emptied every week or two. Its catch is dominated by non-biting and beneficial insects, with mosquitoes only a small share. Independent and peer-reviewed evidence does not show it reduces biting or yard mosquito populations, so the decorative housing does not change what a UV and fan trap can actually do.
