Three-stage passive trap from DynaTrap that pairs an AtraktaGlo UV bulb to draw insects with a titanium-dioxide-coated surface the maker says releases a trace of carbon dioxide, then uses a whisper-quiet vacuum fan to pull them into a cage. The up-to-one-acre figure is a marketing coverage claim, not measured bite protection. It runs continuously at about 35 watts, is pesticide-free and silent with no zapping, and the UV bulb lasts around 3000 hours. In practice it catches mostly non-biting insects, with mosquitoes making up a very small fraction of the haul. Independent field research on UV and fan traps shows no measurable reduction in mosquito biting or in yard mosquito populations, so it behaves more like a quiet insect collector than mosquito protection.
