Compact DynaTrap unit that can be wall-mounted or hung and uses the same three-way approach as the larger models: a warm UV light to draw insects, a titanium-dioxide surface said to release a trace of carbon dioxide, and a quiet fan that pulls insects into a screened base. The up-to-half-acre figure is a marketing coverage claim. It draws only about 15 watts, the bulb lasts around 3000 hours, and mounting hardware is included. In real use its catch is overwhelmingly non-biting insects, with mosquitoes a minor part of the total. Independent studies find no reduction in bites or in local mosquito populations, so like the rest of the line it is better understood as a quiet insect collector than as mosquito protection.
