Summary

Field measurement of honey bee mortality from ULV pyrethroid adulticides at varying distances.

Key findings

Bee mortality was under 10% for most pyrethroid products and distances (including prallethrin plus sumithrin), largely dissipating beyond 61 m, while malathion was the outlier at 22 to 100% within 61 m.

Limitations

Sentinel caged bees at fixed distances during single-application events.
