Summary

Field trial of d-allethrin and d-transallethrin mosquito coils in Malaysian homes, in a Culex-dominated setting.

Key findings

Mean bite reduction was 71.7% and 70.9% for d-allethrin coils and 75.0% and 72.6% for d-transallethrin coils, versus 29.0% for blank coils, in a catch that was 84.7% Culex quinquefasciatus.

Limitations

Dominated by Culex with little Aedes or Anopheles data, and tests combustion coils rather than a modern heat emanator.
