Summary

Two-choice laboratory bioassays of a 5% geraniol formulation against four medically important tick species, compared to 15% DEET.

Key findings

100% repellency at 2.5 and 3.5 h for all species except Ixodes scapularis (95.8% at 3.5 h), matching or exceeding 15% DEET — establishing geraniol's tick-repellent breadth.

Limitations

Laboratory substrate bioassay, not human-skin protection time; manufacturer-linked formulation.
