Summary

Semi-field comparison of cold versus thermal fogging against caged Culex.

Key findings

Thermal fogging out-performed cold fogging under hot-dry conditions and held knockdown regardless of distance from the spray line, while cold-fog efficacy fell off with distance.

Limitations

Caged adults in one arid climate, with cyphenothrin and other pyrethroids rather than the actives in consumer foggers.
